Q - How much does a web site cost to build, maintain, and host?
A - The development cost of a web site is dependent upon the size and complexity of the site, the number of images and photos, the amount of graphics design, and the degree of function required. In order to provide an accurate quote, we prefer to meet with each client to gain a clear understanding of these issues.
Maintaining and updating an existing web site is billed at an hourly rate (1/2 hour minimum). However, our clients have the option of maintaining their sites using our custom designed QuickEdit tools or, if they are technically capable, we will establish an FTP account for a nominal setup fee.
Hosting fees vary based upon web site size and function. Please contact us for specific prices.
Q - How long does it take to develop a web site?
A – Again, this depends upon size, complexity and the availability of text and graphics. We include an implementation schedule with all of our proposals.
Q - Can you work with my graphics designer?
A - Yes, even if the designer has limited or no experience with the Web. We will work closely with him/her through all phases of development.
Q - If you develop my web site, do I have to get someone else to host it?
A - Net by Design offers both web site development and hosting services. Our servers incorporate redundant hardware and communication links for maximum reliability and availability.
Q – Can I get e-mail?
A – We offer 10 email boxes at no charge if your web site is hosted with us. There is a nominal monthly fee for additional mailboxes.
Q – What development platforms do you offer?
A – Our technical staff is proficient in nearly all Internet technologies, such as HTML, XML, Javascript, Java, Active Server Pages, ASP.NET; as well as many database platforms. If you have a need, even a specific requirement regarding platforms, chances are our staff can fulfill it.
Q – How do I get a domain name? What should it be? How can I transfer my existing domain name?
A – If you do not have a domain name, Net by Design will help you determine what is appropriate and obtain it for you (no charge if we develop your site). If you already have a domain name and web site, we will transfer them to our server for a nominal setup fee.
Q – Can you give me a proposal (or estimate) for building my site?
A – We can provide an estimate during (or following) an initial meeting to discuss the your needs. Following your approval to proceed, we will develop a proposal describing the features/functions of the site, the final cost, the implementation schedule, and the payment schedule.
Q -- If I choose to host my site with Net by Design, do you require a hosting contract?
A – We do not require a hosting contract. Our philosophy is to retain clients by providing exemplary service and support.
Q – How can I ensure that people can find my site? How can Net by Design help?
A – Net by Design will work with you to make your site "search engine friendly". If you host with us, we will submit your web site to the major search engines and portals, and resubmit it every 45 days thereafter. There is no charge for this service.
